Alms Mission

For Eternity Christian Church in conjunction with One Christian Ministry Community Development Corporation, which was founded in March of 2006, aspire collectively and fundamentally to serve others as Christ has taught us through His Word.

Specifically, we have been “called” to honor to God through philanthropic deeds and actions, and through the giving of time and personal financial contributions; and to unite in this endeavor with other “believing” men and women who desire to serve God and community.

The facts

In recent years, there has been a significant increase in homelessness in the United States, evidencing that there are many economically challenged people living in one of the wealthiest countries in the world. Even the best methodology in determining the depth of homelessness in our country proves to be difficult and is perhaps somewhat inaccurate; however, national estimates of homelessness show that as many as 3.5 million people are homeless at some point during any given year, and studies also indicate that 1.5 million of those homeless are children, considered the fastest growing segment of homelessness in the country. Various reports indicate that economic challenges exist for people of diverse backgrounds and for many reasons. In addition to, and often contributors to homelessness, are a number of other issues that affect the wellness of our communities, including an increasing number of teenage pregnancies, disproportionate number of high school dropouts among minorities, increasing poverty among the elderly, drug abuse, lack of adequate healthcare, hungry school age children and families, etc.  We strongly believe that there can never be enough support to bring long-term solutions to serve, assist and lift up the indigent among us. We have a vision to do our share to help as many people as we can.
